Rana’s School of Ballet provides ballet training to children from
the age of 4 to adulthood.
Rana O’Brien has danced as a professional ballerina in Istanbul
State Opera and Ballet Company for 17 years. As well as being a registered teacher
of Royal Academy of Dance, she also has an MA degree in Dance Studies
and has written dance critiques in daily newspapers and Dance Europe Magazine from
1994 to 2001.
Rana’s School of Ballet follows the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus.
Rana enriches this syllabus with a wider perspective coming from her ballet background
of Russian ballet teachers of Chicetti and Vaganova techniques who taught her in
Turkey.
Students who are committed are entered in Royal Academy of Dance Presentation classes
and Examinations.
In Rana’s School of Ballet, every student is treated as an individual and would
progress in the syllabi in his/her own possible pace.
Rana O’Brien believes that students in any performing arts training should be given
an opportunity to perform on stage. Therefore she tries to arrange performing opportunities
for her students as often as she can. Rana’s School of Ballet provides ballet training to children from the age of 4 to adulthood. Beginners classes are taught in two different venues: 1. St Teresa's Youth Centre, Glen Road BT11 8BL 2. St Joseph's Primary School, Carryduff BT8 8EX
